Friends of the School

What is FOS?

It comprises of a group of parents and teachers who work together to the support the schools’ community activities. Some of the events include:

  • Community Takeaway Nights at school (setting up furniture and tidying up at the end)
  • Sausage sizzles (cooking on the BBQ and supporting senior students)
  • Gardening and playground maintenance (such as raking bark chips)
  • Talent Quest/Wearable Art Show/Discos etc. (providing baking, collecting money on the door, support for teachers backstage)
  • Student Council Days assistance once a term

When and Where Does FOS Meet?

Meetings are called only when there is a large event to be arranged.  The meetings are held in the school staffroom and chaired by one of our Coprincipals.

How will I know when an event or parent help is required?

Requests for help will be advertised in the school newsletter on our website and in a ‘take home flyer’.

How much time does it involve?

FOS members take on the amount and type of work with which they are comfortable.  Some members help in some way on all activities, others concentrate their efforts into one of our big events.  We work together as a dedicated team, have lots of fun while we are doing it and it is a great way to meet other parents within the CTMS community.

We are also keen to hear from parents who get a “volunteer day” through their company and would like to assist at CTMS for a day – resourcing books, parent help, maintenance around the school etc.

Who do I contact for more information or if I have a suggestion?

Please talk to Jenny or Brigid (Coprincipals).
